Fort Wright organizes donation drive for flood-affected North Carolina

The City of Fort Wright is organizing a donation drive to support communities in North Carolina affected by recent flooding. The initiative aims to collect non-perishable and personal hygiene items. These donations will be delivered directly to a key distribution area in North Carolina.

Fire Chief Schewe is among the staff members who will transport the collected items. He plans to leave for North Carolina on Friday, October 11. Donations can be made at the Fire Department until the end of business hours on that date.

"The devastation in so many communities from Hurricane Helene is significant," stated an official. "I’m so proud of our community, elected officials, and staff who make efforts like this possible. Thank you!"

It is important to note that clothing or toy items cannot be accepted as part of this shipment.
