Fort Wright organizes aid for flood-stricken North Carolina communities

Michael Gross Police Detective | City of Fort Wright

The City of Fort Wright, Kentucky, is organizing a donation drive to collect non-perishable and personal hygiene items for communities in North Carolina affected by flooding. The initiative aims to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Fire Chief Schewe will lead a team of staff members to deliver the collected items directly to a key distribution area in North Carolina. He plans to leave on Friday, October 11. Donations will be accepted at the Fire Department until the end of business on October 10.

"The devastation in so many communities from Hurricane Helene is significant," said city representatives. "The City of Fort Wright is so proud of our community, elected officials, and staff who make efforts like this possible. Thank you!"

It should be noted that clothing or toy donations are not being accepted for this shipment.
