Kenton County students excel at regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Students from the Kenton County School District (KCSD) have been recognized in the regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. Several students received accolades for their writing, with Turkey Foot Middle School's Mila Gwin receiving honorable mentions in poetry and flash fiction. Other students from the same school who earned honorable mentions include Mallory Smith, Leah Benge, Madeline Olson, Paige Krall, and Sophia Marovich. Notably, Sophia Taylor won a silver key for poetry.

Dixie Heights High School student Bella Phelps was awarded an honorable mention for her portfolio. At Scott High School, Bella Cornett achieved a gold key for her portfolio and an honorable mention in poetry. Kiersten Bennett secured a silver key in poetry.

Simon Kenton High School saw Ashlynn Mays receive an honorable mention for a critical essay, while Mattie Klare and Madison Carnes were acknowledged for their poetry. Gabriel Meyer received multiple honorable mentions across several categories including poetry and flash fiction.

In art, Simon Kenton High School's Kit Walker was given an honorable mention in drawing and illustration. Trinity Blakley earned two gold keys in drawing/illustration and mixed media. Autumn Stubblebine also achieved a gold key alongside several other honors.
