The Christ Hospital Health Network has adopted new technology in its pharmacy department aimed at improving patient care. For over a year, the hospital system has integrated InsightRX, a precision dosing software, into its workflow to assist with antibiotic dosing and enhance efficiency.

Previously, pharmacists relied on manual calculations and basic tools to determine doses for antibiotics such as vancomycin, a medication used to treat serious bacterial infections. With the implementation of InsightRX, pharmacists now use patient-specific data—including age, weight, and kidney function—alongside mathematical models to determine optimal drug dosages. This approach provides dose recommendations and predicts patient responses.

Pharmacists at The Christ Hospital use InsightRX daily when reviewing pharmacokinetics before advising the medical team on dosing decisions. According to hospital officials, this method has led to more consistent dosing practices and reduced the time required for vancomycin consultations.

“Having used InsightRX for more than a year now within The Christ Hospital Health Network, we have seen first-hand the increase in efficiency from our pharmacy team,” said Justin Gamble, Director of Pharmacy Services at The Christ Hospital Network. “With the success we’ve had using InsightRX, we hope to expand the use of this software to help in dosing for a number of additional pharmaceutical drugs.”

The technology has also streamlined training for new pharmacists by providing standardized workflows and automated calculations. This change is reported to make onboarding faster and improve overall quality of care.

Looking forward, The Christ Hospital is considering expanding precision dosing through InsightRX to other types of medications and possibly incorporating it into clinical trials. These steps are expected to help optimize treatment strategies and improve safety outcomes.

“We’re proud to see The Christ Hospital Health Network leading the way in advancing precision dosing,” said Sirj Goswami, PhD, CEO and Co-Founder of InsightRX. “Their success illustrates how model-informed precision dosing can enhance patient safety today while laying the foundation for broader applications across therapeutic areas. As health systems continue to adopt these data-driven approaches, pharmacists are gaining powerful tools to improve consistency, reduce variability and deliver individualized care at scale.”

The Christ Hospital Health Network operates an acute care hospital in Mt. Auburn as well as additional locations throughout the Cincinnati region. The network employs over 1,300 physicians and 7,200 staff members. In 2025, it was recognized as the top hospital in Cincinnati by U.S. News & World Report and appeared on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals list.

InsightRX develops cloud-based software that supports healthcare providers with data-driven drug dosing decisions across several therapeutic areas.
