The Christ Hospital Health Network is encouraging women to prioritize their health by scheduling annual mammograms during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The healthcare providers at the hospital will conduct a free webinar titled "Breast Cancer – Beyond the Mammogram" on October 24th at noon. Participants can register for this online event where Jennifer Manders, MD, surgical oncologist; Julie Specht, MD, oncologist; and Chloe Meier, genetic counselor, will address questions related to breast cancer.
The hospital is part of the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Care Collaborative, which includes hospitals committed to excellence in adult medical and radiation oncology. This collaboration allows The Christ Hospital's oncology providers access to benefits such as supportive services, second opinions, and educational resources on advanced cancer care. An example of life-saving second opinions includes that of Heather Britt. The partnership involves educational programs for physicians and clinical staff and participation in tumor boards with sub-specialists from Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center.
