The Christ Hospital Medical Center – Liberty Township is set to expand its labor and delivery unit as part of a $13 million project, adding 8,800 square feet to the facility. The expansion will include two additional patient care floors with more labor and delivery and postpartum rooms. Completion is expected by the end of 2026.

According to the hospital, the design of the expanded birthing center focuses on meeting the specific needs of families during childbirth. The new space will also offer hydrotherapy birth options, responding to patient requests.

Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, said, “We have heard the demand for exceptional healthcare in our northern suburbs from our patients which is why we are excited to announce this new expansion of our Liberty Birthing Center. By adding more rooms and high-quality services to our medical center, we are demonstrating an investment into the community and doing everything it takes to make healthcare affordable and accessible closer to where people live and work.”

The project involves partnerships with Champlin Architecture, CMTA Engineering, Schaefer Inc., and Danis Construction Company. This follows a $20 million expansion in 2024 that doubled MRI and CT imaging capabilities at the facility due to increased demand for cardiac, orthopedic, cancer, and women’s health diagnostics.

Jenny Demos, DO, Associate Medical Director for Women’s Health at The Christ Hospital Health Network stated, “As we’ve seen an increase in patients at The Christ Hospital Liberty Township Birthing Center, we realize the need to expand our services. These additions will help us to continue to deliver the highest standard of care to all of our patients during their entire birth journey increasing access, comfort and convenience and specialization. We are excited to continue to grow as a leader in women’s healthcare in southwest Ohio.”
