The Christ Hospital Health Network has been recognized as the second-ranked system in Ohio for cancer care and placed 37th nationally by Money Magazine. The magazine’s rankings highlight the top 75 institutions across the United States. Criteria for the rankings included federal ratings from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a facility’s specialization in cancer care, services and research efforts, and various designations and accreditations.

The methodology used by Money Magazine incorporated both quality and patient-experience ratings from federal sources. Hospitals were also evaluated on their focus on cancer care, including the volume of oncology-related procedures and the ratio of oncology specialists to total physicians. Additional factors included whether hospitals had accredited programs by the American College of Surgeons, offered in-house palliative or hospice care, participated in clinical trials at above-average levels, or held special designations such as being named a comprehensive or laboratory cancer center.

Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, commented on the recognition: “It is an honor to be named one of the best hospitals in the country for our cancer care. The Christ Hospital Health Network partnership with the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Care Collaborative has helped expanded research and additional access to care for our patients. We continue enrollment in life-saving clinical trials that will lead the way in new treatments and therapies. Our experienced team continues to do everything it takes for exceptional cancer care here in Greater Cincinnati."

Brian Mannion, MD, Medical Director of Oncology Services at The Christ Hospital Health Network, said: “This award is another example of the work our dedicated team members put in every day to treat patients with cancer from all across the country. As our system continues to grow and lead in new, innovative ways, our community knows they can get worldclass care closer to where they live.”

Recently, The Christ Hospital was also named as the top hospital in Cincinnati by U.S. News & World Report for eleven consecutive years and received a five-star rating from CMS.

The Christ Hospital Health Network includes an acute care hospital located in Mt. Auburn as well as a remote location in Liberty Township. It operates eight outpatient centers along with numerous medical offices throughout its service area. With more than 1,300 physicians and over 7,200 staff members serving patients for 135 years, it remains committed to providing affordable healthcare with strong outcomes.
