The Christ Hospital Health Network's 2024 Gala in Cincinnati successfully raised over $2.3 million for its Comprehensive Oncology Program. These funds are earmarked for patient assistance, research, and vital cancer programs. "These funds reflect the perception of The Christ Hospital Health Network by our community and will be life-changing for our patients," said Brian Mannion, MD, Medical Director of The Christ Hospital’s Oncology Program. He added that the community shares their vision of being a leading destination for cancer care.
The event was supported by Fort Washington Investment Advisors as the presenting sponsor and Danis Construction as the Diamond Sponsor. It honored seven pioneers in Cincinnati's cancer care: Cornelia M. Dettmer, MD, PhD (posthumously), Ralph M. Scott, MD (posthumously), Wilfried Leder, MD, Douglas K. Hawley, MD, Kathryn Ann Weichert, MD, Martin B. Popp, MD, and Rodney P. Geier, MD.
“We are so proud of each of these individuals and their unwavering commitment to excellence,” said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. She emphasized that it is on their shoulders that they continue their mission to provide exceptional clinical care affordably.
This fundraising effort coincides with The Christ Hospital Health Network being named to Newsweek’s Best Cancer Hospitals List for 2024. The network is expanding its capabilities in response to rising cancer rates in the region which sometimes exceed national averages. In collaboration with Dana Farber Brigham Cancer Center, they aim to offer groundbreaking treatments unique to Cincinnati.
The Christ Hospital Health Network includes an acute care hospital in Mt. Auburn and various other facilities across the region with a mission to improve community health through affordable quality care.
