The Christ Hospital Health Network and The Christ College of Nursing & Health Sciences, in collaboration with the Hamilton County Educational Service Center, are organizing an event titled Healthcare in a Day. This initiative aims to present various career paths within the healthcare sector to high school students. Scheduled for Friday, November 1, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the event will be held at The Christ Hospital's auditorium in Mt. Auburn.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from professionals across different healthcare fields about their careers and educational journeys. At 8:40 a.m., Dr. Saad Hasan, a cardiothoracic surgeon at The Christ Hospital Health Network, is set to perform an open-heart surgery which will be live-streamed for attendees. Dr. Robert Dowling, Surgical Director of The Christ Hospital Heart Transplant Program, will provide narration during the procedure.
Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, along with Dr. Amy Wutke, President of The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences, will offer welcoming remarks to teachers and students as they commence their day of exploration into healthcare professions.
The event is expected to feature presentations from medical experts representing various departments such as nursing, sonography, radiation technology, and medical assisting among others. Additionally, programs and degrees available through The Christ College on The Christ Hospital campus will be highlighted.
Students from twenty local high schools including Aiken High School and Anderson High School are anticipated to attend this informative session.
