The Christ College of Nursing & Health Sciences is set to inaugurate Dr. Amy Wutke as its fifth president on November 6, 2024. The event will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Auditorium on A Level at The Christ Hospital, followed by a reception in the Centennial Pavilion. A bagpipe procession will precede the ceremony, starting at 3:45 p.m., weather permitting. This procession will include college administration, faculty, staff, board members, and Rev. Doug Mitchell, all in regalia.
Dr. Wutke and Dr. James Wendel, Chairman of the College Board of Directors, will join the procession near the Medical Office Building en route to the auditorium. Ceremonial addresses are expected from Dr. James Wendel; Hanna Berkompas, President of Student Congress; Mary Page Dalrymple, Chair of Faculty Senate; and Deborah Hayes, President/CEO of The Christ Hospital. Dr. Wutke will also deliver a President’s address.
Dr. Amy Wutke assumed her role as president on June 24th, 2024. Previously she was President of Cox College in Springfield, Missouri. Her academic credentials include a bachelor’s degree in History from Providence College, a master’s degree in Secondary Administration from Southwest Baptist University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Reflecting on her new position, Dr. Wutke stated: “As I begin my tenure, I am reminded of the rich legacy upon which The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences is built.” She emphasized that for over a century the institution has been recognized for excellence in nursing and healthcare education with graduates contributing significantly to Cincinnati's community health.
In her initial three months at The Christ College, Dr. Wutke focused on engaging with stakeholders to explore opportunities for enhancing student experiences and developing a strategic plan.
