During the week of November 11–15, the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and schools across the United States will observe National School Psychology Week. This annual event highlights the contributions of school psychologists and their role in helping children thrive in various aspects of life.
The theme for this year is "Spark Discovery," which acknowledges the efforts of school psychologists to encourage new ideas, effect change, and broaden opportunities for children and youth. The public is encouraged to express support and gratitude for these professionals who serve students, teachers, and families.
School psychologists are integral members of educational teams, supporting both student learning and teacher instruction. They use their expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to aid children's academic, social, and emotional success. Their responsibilities include providing direct support through interventions like learning assessments, counseling, academic assistance, behavioral strategies, and social skills training. Additionally, they collaborate with families and educators to enhance school-wide practices.
"Thank you to all of our Team Kenton school psychologists!"
