Project Heart ReStart is set to deliver 168 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to 38 agencies across six counties in Northern Kentucky. The event will take place on November 14 at the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. This initiative, started by The Christ Hospital Health Network, aims to equip law enforcement vehicles with AEDs.
St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Rotary Clubs from Cincinnati, Covington, Florence, Kenton County, and Falmouth have raised funds for these devices. St. Elizabeth Healthcare contributed an initial $150,000 for 76 units, with additional funding coming from community members and Rotary Clubs.
In November 2023, Project Heart ReStart raised $260,000 to install 130 AEDs in deputy cruisers for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. Phase II involved raising $200,000 for 100 AEDs across 26 law enforcement agencies in Hamilton County.
The combined efforts of Phases I, II, and III aim to make Greater Cincinnati one of the first AED-ready regions in the country.
