The Christ Hospital Health Network has been awarded five WebMD patient choice awards in cardiology, including best Ohio hospitals for coronary bypass, heart valve replacement, and defibrillator placement. The hospital also received accolades in neurology and orthopedics. Notably, only three hospitals in Ohio were recognized for pacemaker placement, with four acknowledged for both coronary bypass and heart valve replacement.
WebMD Choice Awards honor hospital systems excelling in specialty medicine such as cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, and neurology. This program uniquely bases its recognition on votes from patients and providers over the past year.
Dean Kereiakes, MD, FACC, MSCAI, Chairman of The Christ Hospital Heart & Vascular Institute stated: “As our cardiovascular program continues to offer the most treatment options and the best outcomes for patients in our community, awards like these show the dedication and hard work of all of our team members at the Heart & Vascular Institute.” He emphasized that patient votes reflect their satisfaction with the unique care provided.
Additionally, The Christ Hospital Health Network was honored with the Medscape Provider Choice Award for cardiology and orthopedic care in Ohio. These awards are derived from surveys conducted among healthcare providers through Medscape email targeting various primary care and specialty areas.
Michael Palmer, MD, FAAOS, FAOA, Medical Director of the Musculoskeletal Service Line at The Christ Hospital Health Network expressed: “We are thrilled to be named a provider of choice by both our patients and providers.” He highlighted that these recognitions demonstrate the hospital's reputation extends beyond its walls into discussions among families who have experienced exceptional care.
