At Beechwood High School, students achieved a college readiness rate of 64% on the reading portion of the ACT for the 2023-24 school year, according to the Kentucky Department of Education.

On average, students scored 21.8 in reading during the 2023-24 school year, compared to 22.5 in the previous year.

Reading proficiency in the school dropped 4% compared to the previous school year, when 68% of students were considered ready for post-secondary education.

For comparison, 42% of students across Kentucky met or exceeded ACT benchmarks in reading during 2023-24 school year.

Beyond reading, 76% of students Beechwood High School met the English college readiness benchmarks in the 2023-24 school year. Additionally, 66% were considered college-ready in math.

Beechwood High School is the only school located in Beechwood Independent School District.

Despite escaping some of the pandemic's educational disruptions, Kentucky's achievement gaps have remained an issue since 2019. In the eighth-grade reading assessments, for example, Hispanic students scored eight points lower than their white peers, and the gap reached 15 points in math. Black students fared even worse, falling more than 20 points behind and facing a failure rate nearly double that of their white counterparts.
