The Christ Hospital Health Network has been recognized as one of the nation's Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospitals, according to an independent analysis by Premier, Inc. The hospital is ranked sixth among teaching hospitals with a cardiovascular residency program. Hospitals included in this list showed better inpatient survival rates, fewer complications, lower readmission rates for certain procedures, and cost efficiency in patient care. The Christ Hospital Health Network earned five stars for heart failure, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
"Whether it’s heart failure, acute myocardial infarction or coronary artery bypass, patients at The Christ Hospital Health Network know our team is committed to doing everything it takes to create exceptional outcomes for all of our cardiovascular patients," said Debbie Hayes, President and CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network. "Our dedicated team of physicians, clinicians and support team members set the standard for world-class heart care not just in Ohio but across the country."
Rankings are based on performance across individual measures within three peer groups: teaching hospitals with cardiovascular residency programs (20 top performing facilities), teaching hospitals without such programs (20 top performing facilities), and community hospitals (10 top performing facilities).
"The Christ Hospital Heart & Vascular Institute continues to be the gold standard for cardiac care in the region," said Dean Kereiakes, MD, FACC, MSCAI Chairman of The Heart & Vascular Institute at The Christ Hospital Health Network. "This award is proof that The Christ Hospital’s reputation continues to grow beyond the Tri-State.
