The Christ Hospital Health Network's Transplant Center Team is set to host a Donate Life Flag Raising Ceremony to highlight the significance of organ donation. The event will take place on April 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. outside the main entrance of The Christ Hospital's campus in Mt. Auburn, in conjunction with National Donate Life Month. Participants will include heart and kidney transplant recipients and a living kidney donor.
Key speakers at the ceremony are slated to include Debbie Hayes, President & CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, Barry Massa, CEO of Network for Hope, and Jan-Michele Kearney, Vice Mayor of Cincinnati.
The Christ Hospital Health Network is renowned for its kidney and tissue transplant programs, which have been operational since 1972, completing over 2,400 successful kidney transplants to date. The heart transplant program, certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) since October 2022, has conducted 45 successful heart transplants. This certification aims to broaden access for heart failure patients within the network.
The Christ Hospital Health Network comprises an acute care hospital in Mt. Auburn, a remote hospital in Liberty Township, eight outpatient centers, and various medical offices across the region. The network has been serving the community for 135 years, staffed by more than 1,300 physicians and over 7,200 team members, focusing on improving community health with cost-effective care.
