On July 31, healthcare providers at The Christ Hospital Health Network will host a free online webinar titled "Mind the Bulge: Know the Signs of Hernias, Protect Your Health." The event aims to educate participants on recognizing early signs and symptoms of hernias, understanding their causes, identifying who is at risk, and exploring available treatment options. Prevention tips will also be discussed.
The webinar will feature Kenneth Farber, DO, a family medicine provider, and Jonathan Schilling, MD, a surgeon at The Christ Hospital Health Network. They will address common symptoms such as visible bulges or lumps in the abdomen or groin, pain or discomfort at the bulge site, burning sensations in affected areas, and nausea or bowel movement difficulties.
The Christ Hospital offers minimally invasive inguinal hernia repair procedures that result in shorter hospital stays compared to traditional methods. The session will conclude with a question-and-answer segment for attendees. Those unable to attend live can receive a recording of the event.
The Christ Hospital Health Network includes an acute care hospital in Mt. Auburn and various facilities throughout the region. It has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the top hospital in Cincinnati and featured on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals list for 2025.
