Nine surgeons from The Christ Hospital Health Network have been named to Newsweek’s America’s Leading Doctors List for 2025. The list, compiled in partnership with Statista, recognizes more than 2,800 specialists across 15 medical fields nationwide.

The honored surgeons from The Christ Hospital Health Network are Mark Harding, MD, and Christopher Paprzycki, MD (vascular surgery); Paul Favorito, MD (shoulder surgery); Patrick Kirk, MD (hip surgery); Janice Rafferty, MD (colorectal surgery); and Geoffrey Answini, MD, J. Michael Smith, MD, Saad Hasan, MD, and Jeffrey Griffin, MD (cardiothoracic surgery).

Selection for the list was based on four data sources: performance benchmark data from Medicare Fee-for-Service claims and commercial data via Arcadia; an online survey of thousands of medical professionals across 20 states; peer ratings of quality of care; and certifications from various American medical and surgical boards.

Statista is known for publishing global industry rankings and company listings in partnership with major media outlets. Their research relies on the data portal statista.com.

The Christ Hospital Health Network includes a main hospital in Mt. Auburn, a remote location in Liberty Township, eight outpatient centers and numerous medical offices throughout the region. It employs over 1,300 physicians and more than 7,200 staff members. The network has served the community for 135 years with a mission to improve health through affordable care with strong outcomes. In addition to this latest recognition by Newsweek, the network was named the top hospital in Cincinnati by U.S. News & World Report and also appeared on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals list for 2025.
