The Christ Hospital Health Network has announced the addition of Charles Bellamy, MD, to its interventional spine program. Dr. Bellamy will work alongside Robert Ernst, MD, as part of an effort to broaden the network’s spine care services. The Joint and Spine Center at The Christ Hospital Health Network offers a range of non-surgical treatments for back and spine pain, including epidural steroid injections, CT-guided procedures, and radiofrequency ablations.
According to Robert Ernst, MD, Medical Director of the Interventional Spine Program at The Christ Hospital Health Network: “The addition of Dr. Bellamy to our spine care team at The Christ Hospital Health Network continues to boost our already talented team of healthcare providers for those suffering from back and spine pain. While we have the ability to perform surgeries, it’s important to have other options in treating spine and back pain that millions of Americans suffer from every year. Among the procedures offered is the Intracept procedure, a minimally invasive treatment designed for patients with lower lumbar back pain lasting more than six months. This approach serves as an alternative to spinal fusion surgery and can be completed in less than an hour. It offers benefits such as longer-lasting results and shorter recovery time. The Christ Hospital Health Network is currently the only Intracept Center of Excellence in its region.
The Christ Hospital Health Network includes an acute care hospital in Mt. Auburn, a remote hospital in Liberty Township, eight ambulatory outpatient centers, and several medical offices across the area.
