Fort Wright partners with Kenton County for free Christmas tree recycling

Jill Cain Bailey City Administrative Officer | City of Fort Wright

The City of Fort Wright has announced its collaboration with Kenton County Public Works for the annual Christmas tree mulching event. Residents are encouraged to recycle their live Christmas trees by dropping them off at a designated location.

To participate, residents must ensure that all ornaments and lights are removed from the trees. The drop-off site is located at City Hall, 409 Kyles Lane, Fort Wright, KY. The collection area can be found near the Guardian Angel Garden on the northeast side of the city building.

The drop-off period begins on Thursday, December 26th, 2024, and will conclude on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025. After this period, Kenton County Public Works will convert the collected trees into mulch for future use.

This recycling service is offered "Free of Charge" to anyone wishing to dispose of their live tree responsibly. For further details or inquiries, individuals can contact city officials at 859.331.1700 or via email at [email protected]

A roped-off area next to the Administration Building parking lot has been specifically designated for tree drop-offs.
