Kenton County Schools introduces alternative bus route plan amid inclement weather
Dr. Henry Webb Superintendent | Kenton County School District

Kenton County Schools Superintendent Henry Webb has addressed the community regarding the challenges posed by winter weather and its impact on school operations. In a recent communication, Webb expressed gratitude to both the support operations staff and road crews for their efforts in ensuring safe travel and learning environments following severe weather.

Webb highlighted the factors considered when deciding whether to keep schools open during inclement weather. These include road conditions, campus status, specific roads and turnarounds that buses cannot navigate, and weather forecasts. "Decisions are made with safety as our number one priority after considering input from various experts and stakeholders," he stated.

In response to a recent unusual weather situation, Kenton County Schools has developed an "Inclement Weather Alternative Bus Route Plan." This plan allows for continued schooling even when certain roads are inaccessible to buses due to adverse conditions. The details of this new plan have been made available to the community.

Webb acknowledged the difficulties that school closures and delays can cause for families, staff, and students. He expressed appreciation for the community's patience and flexibility during these times. "We are fortunate to have such a collaborative and supportive community," he remarked.

The superintendent emphasized that safety remains paramount while maintaining instructional continuity during challenging weather events.
