The Kenton County School District had several student athletes who participated in the KHSAA State Wrestling tournament held in Lexington.
In girls wrestling, Simon Kenton's Devon Banks achieved a fourth-place finish. Her teammates McKenzie Ratliff, Alayna Banks, and Destany Tapp also competed at the state level.
For boys wrestling, Simon Kenton's Jonah McCloskey was the state runner-up, while Braydan Blevins secured fifth place. Other participants from Simon Kenton included Ian Lawrence, Parker Smith, Benjamin Woosley, and Jaden Rutherford.
Michael Smith from Scott High School finished fourth in his weight class. His fellow wrestlers Tracker Blackburn, Kylan Sturgeon, Aiden Bowling, and Mason Krentz also represented their school.
Xavier Montanez from Dixie Heights earned a fourth-place finish in his weight class. His teammates Ethan Piasecki, Justin Kidd, and Henry Morales took part in the state competition as well.
