The Christ Hospital Health Network in Cincinnati has achieved Magnet recognition for the fourth time, a distinction held by fewer than 2% of hospitals nationwide. The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program awards this status to health care organizations that meet high standards for nursing excellence. This credential is regarded as the highest national honor for professional nursing practice.

Debbie Hayes, President & CEO of The Christ Hospital Health Network, expressed pride in this achievement: “Magnet recognition is a tremendous honor and reflects our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to this community.” She noted that being honored for a fourth time underscores the sustained excellence of their nurses and support teams.

Julie Holt, Chief Nursing Officer at The Christ Hospital Health Network, highlighted the impact of Magnet recognition on their organization: “We’re a better organization today because of the Magnet recognition. It raised the bar for patient care and inspired every member of our team to achieve excellence every day.”

To initially earn Magnet recognition, organizations must undergo a rigorous process involving an electronic application, written documentation, an on-site visit, and review by the Commission on Magnet Recognition. Organizations must reapply every four years based on adherence to Magnet concepts and demonstrated improvements in patient care.

The Christ Hospital Health Network includes an acute care hospital in Mt. Auburn, a remote location in Liberty Township, five ambulatory outpatient centers, and numerous medical offices throughout the region. It was recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the top hospital in Cincinnati and named to Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals list in 2025.

The ANCC's Magnet Recognition Program identifies health care organizations that provide excellent nursing care and professionalism. It serves as a benchmark for measuring quality of care.
